«EPFL alumni entrepreneurship club»

A3 Angels was founded in 2008 by Claude Florin and the Association of EPFL alumni in order to support entrepreunarial efforts in the field of high-technology in Suisse Romande.

In 2010 a portfolio of 15 companies have been supported by 60 members. We delivered over 500 hours of mentoring to entrepreneurs and established a cooperation with MIT Venture Mentoring Service. A3 Angels also contributed to more than 2.5 MCHF seed investments in syndicates with other regional business angel networks.

We provide support to alumni of Swiss engineering or business schools who want to support qualified start-up companies. Investors pool individual seed investments in the range of 50'000-200'000 CHF, represented by a lead shareholder. A3 Angel provides support in the form of a deal flow, screening, due dilligence support, administrative support and investor or mentoring education. We have received more than 100 entrepreneur applications to-date, invited 50 companies to present and performed more than 200 hours of due diligence. We also provide start-ups with a network of 600 EPFL alumni who have interrest in our entrepreunarial activities in Switzerland and abroad.
